Hello,
My name is Carolyn and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I made my first quilt in 2011. I found some old quilting magazines in a secondhand shop, brought some Amy Butler fabric online and completely improv’d my first quilt! This quilt is still my favourite quilt and it started me on my creative journey and my fabric addiction.
In October 2014 I decided it was time to leave my job as a payroll consultant and try something new, which was a brave step for a 50 year old! When I drove home on my last day of work, for the first time I felt like a free bird. I was excited at the prospect of having 3 months off work and then looking for something completely new to do.
It didn’t take 3 months. A couple of weeks into October I travelled to the Adelaide Machine Quilting Convention. I trialed a couple of longarm quilting machines and with a lot of encouragement from my husband and family I decided this was my future.
When I quilt, again, I feel like a free bird, it is such a relaxing place and I feel a great sense of creative freedom.
When I custom quilt, I find something in the quilting pattern or fabric leads to my quilting design, I love this creative process.
I would love to quilt for you!
Carolyn
