******* This Divided Blooms Pattern is available in my ‘shop’ *********
I was lucky enough to be able to design this quilt with the beautiful Lecien Memoire a Paris fabric range. I used a fat quarter bundle of the collection which was perfect! (see below for a full product code description of all fabric used in this quilt.)
The fabrics are a beautiful soft lawn and in the most gorgeous floral designs, I knew I wanted to create a quilt that was pretty and reflected the romance of the prints.
I teamed them with the Lecien Fabrics Yarn Dyed Cloth which is a perfect linen for making quilts.
Lots of beautiful petals and circles were cut and sewn.
For this pattern the quilt is made up of blocks with the flowers ironed and sewn into place and then assembled by sewing together with the sashing.
I knew that I needed the quilting to reflect the beautiful Memoire a Paris fabric range so I quilted lots of flowers and flowing feathers.
The sunshine really makes the fabrics and quilting come to life.
Finally the finished quilt.
Pattern for this one is in the shop!

Hello,
I just bought this beautiful pattern. I need to know something about reading your pattern though.
The petals, the centers, and the circles are all separate measurements? Is there anywhere on the pattern that
tells how much TOTAL of ea color is needed? Thanks so much, kim
Carolyn Murfitt says
Hello Kim,
thank you for your email.
I have included a ‘fabric swatch table’ with breaks up each component and the fabric requirements matches that table.
For example the fabric for flower one petals uses approx. 1/16th yard
fabric for flower one centre uses approx 3″ square
and you can put a swatch of your chosen fabric in the ‘fabric swatch table’.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kim says
Hello, me again.
Also wondering which template I should use. The corrected size? Or the original that came with the pattern. The original
looks to be quite a bit bigger. And just to make sure I have the correct size, could you please email the length of leaf T3, and the diameter of circle T6. Thanks so much. Kim T.
Email you should have on file.
Carolyn Murfitt says
Hello Kim,
please email me as much as you want, I am happy to help.
Definitely the template that came with the pattern is the correct size if it was downloaded according to the instructions on the pattern.
In the pattern corrections was an update to the name of the templates for an early pattern release not the size.
T3 equals 4 inches and is 1 inch diameter.
I would love it if you could send me a pic of your quilt as it comes together, I have seen them in the most beautiful fabrics, Kaffe Fassett, William Morris and Alison Glass. Would love to see the fabrics you have chosen.
Best wishes

Paula says
I purchased the pattern and loved the quilting on it…you don’t have direct drawings of the quilting do you?….the piecing is not a problem but quilting is for me
Carolyn Murfitt says
Hello Paula,
Unfortunately the quilting is freehand custom quilting that I just make up as I go along.
Are you a lingarm quilter or are you sending the quilt off to be quilted?
Carolyn
Sandra says

I purchases the Divided Blooms pattern and made it using a ‘layer cake’ plus a few fat quarters for the flowers and Essex linen for the background. I appreciated the cutting instructions for the background fabric as it made very efficient and economical use of the fabric. The pattern was easy to follow and I am over the moon happy with the results of my Divided Blooms quilt. I think the Divided Blooms quilt is beautiful and elegant!! Thanks Carolyn for the wonderful pattern, probably one of my favorite makes to date.
Carolyn Murfitt says
Thank you Diane, for such a lovely review. Loved seeing your finished quilt, you did such a beautiful job of putting it together and your quilting was amazing. Hope you enjoy your next pattern.
Lots of love
