I first got the idea for this quilting design when I saw my daughters henna designs on her hand and wrist.
I very quickly, one afternoon, made the quilt top choosing Tula Pinks fabric because I thought it gave the same look as the one I was trying to create with this quilting pattern.
I made the petals and circles and ironed them to the fabric with visa flex.
I chose to sew them to the quilt top with the longarm saving precious time.
I decided to double batt this quilt using 2 layers of Hobbs Batting 80/20 in black and used Aurifil Mako 50 2625.

This is very cool. I too have been feeling inspired by henna, but have yet to translate it to fabric. Thanks for sharing, you do amazing work!

The quilting is awesome, and so are your color and design choices. For the color and design did you have an inspiration piece?
Carolyn says
Hello Lori, not really a lot of planning went into this one, it was a very quick quilt so I could practice my quilting.

Thank you!

Absolutely stunning. What batting do you use?
Carolyn says
Hello Dawn,
I tend to double batt my own quilts to give them extra puff.
Most of the time I use the Hobbs 80/20 on the bottom and there wool on top!
