This beautiful quilt was pieced by Margaret she is 82 years old and this is the second quilt I have quilted for her.
The first was the Judy Niemeyer Paradise in Blooms which is also on the website. She won a viewers choice for that quilt at her guild showcase, so that was pretty exciting.
I am going to quilt this quilt with aurifil monofilament and stitch in the ditch to give the quilt stability but not add additional quilting to compete with the design of the quilt.
Below are the three main blocks that make up the quilt.
I had to do a bit of wrangling to keep this quilt square and straight as I quilted it, so when I got to the last border I pinned it straight and square and quilted the extra fabric into the last blocks and as you well see in the photo below it turned out very good!
……….and finally the completed quilt, its a beauty!!

Hello Denise,
She used a pattern and kit for this one, but you are right the colours are amazing, not sure i would have put them together but they work so well.
i was pretty happy with how it turned out, it was the first time i had stitched in the ditch an entire quilt.
