Introducing the ‘Snappy Star Quilt’.
I wanted a simple quilt pattern because I planned to make quite a few new couch and bed quilts for my family. That’s how the ‘Snappy Star’ quilt pattern was born! It’s so easy to make, you can whip it up in no time.
The beauty of this pattern is its simplicity. Here are some details of the pattern:
- 8 fat quarters for the star
- 2¼ yards or 8 fat quarters for the background
- Allowances for those tricky fat quarters that only measure 17½” instead of the standard 18″
- Two sizes: a Large Lap (69″ square) and a Large Lap with additional borders (80″ square)
I love that you can use your favourite fat quarters that you’ve been holding onto and let them be the star of the show.
So far I have made four of these quilts using my Art Gallery Fabric fat quarter bundles.
I have the fabric picked out for three more quilts, one with Christmas fabric, another for my new grandson using Alison Glass fabric, plus I have some leftover Ruby Star Society fabrics for a completely scrappy one.
Quilt number one (pictured below) was made with a fat quarter range called La Vie En Rose by Pat Bravo.
Quilt number two was made with a Fat Quarter bundle called ‘Sunburst’.
Quilt number three was made with 8 co-ordinating pink fat quarters and 8 co-ordinating dark blue fat quarters. I used the most beautiful Art Gallery flannel on the back of this one.
Quilt number four was made with a bunch of tropical fat quarters.
