When I started making these petal blocks I decided that I wanted to give the impression of flowers climbing a trellis, thats the reason a nine patch was added to the Little Petals pattern.
I chose these beautiful Hoffman 1895 batiks in all the beautiful blues and greens and paired them with a black/charcoal batik, it really made the petals pop off the background.
For this quilt I chose the raw edge method of appliqué.
I understand that quilters have their preferred methods, so I’ve got you covered. The ‘Little Petals Patches’ quilt pattern includes instructions for three different appliqué techniques: Interfacing Method: This technique offers precise and clean edges for your appliqué flowers.
